Like all pads I've tried, the Conformax Topper Excel doesn't solve the butt pain problem, just reduces it.  The Conformax is similar to the BornBehindBarz pad in price and quality, but doesn't mount as easily - the BBB has nice, simple integrated elastic straps vs. the Conformax's regular nylon straps are tricky to figure out. However, the Conformax mounts more securely vs the BBB constantly has one mounting hook coming loose.  The BBB pad is thicker, but the Conformax is a little bit wider, the BBB feeling slightly 'tippy-floaty' by comparison.  I now have them doubled up with the Conformax on top.  The next time I tour I'm going to take the further measure (going by another rider's experienced advice) and hike 2-3 miles every day to re-boot my booty.  See also Youtube's "Ten Best Motorcycle Seat Cushions 2019" video - both pads are mentioned on it. - Craig

The size fits my Kawasaki Vulcan S seat perfect, 15x12x6 but the straps are a little hard to get tight.  I hooked the straps onto the seat pan, there is no place on the Vulcan S frame to hook them.  I took the seat off and wrapped the longer strap over the AirMax and all the way around the front of the sit and then tied it off.  Took a long ride today and the AirMax is a 75% improvement over my Vulcan S stock seat, it helps to absorb some of the road bumps too.  The hooks stayed secure but I had to tie them off.  Glad I got the AirMax. - rb

This pad is around 4 inches shorter than the length of my seat.  I have a 2004 Harley davidson fxstdi and it fits just fine.  I didn't use any of the hardware that came with the strips, just looked the strap under the frame and the doubled up leftovers through the d-rings.  All snug and secure, doesn't look terrible, but less comfortable than the stock seat after a 2 hour ride.  Maybe it will be better after a few more hours.  Update: 2 weeks later I'm still getting used to it,  but not liking the 1" lift it gives me.  Now I need a taller windshield. It solved the sliding forward effect of the OEM seat on my 2015 FZ-09 and it also provided gel padding for greater long term riding comfort that many complained about.  The only problem that is universal with most aftermarket seat pads is security. One could easily cut the nylon straps and off they go with the seat pad.  I do not know the answer expect to glue the pad to the OEM seat, but right now I do not want to do that unless I test it thoroughly and decide that is the best economical and permanent solutions.  Of course, having the seat modified by a professional would be the best solution, but it will also be the most expensive, whereas the seat pad is under $80 .... unless someone steals it; that would then start escalating the cost above a complete seat makeover. Fingers crossed for now. - Anson

Seems like a very high qualit item.  Much thicker than I have seen before.  I installed in a stock BMW seat.  Significant improvement and easy to install.  I do have an install tip.  I marked around the pad and then used a carpet knife to cut around the area where the gel would fit.  I then repeatedly cut across the area to be removed both ways until I had about one inch squares to remove.  That made it easy to control the depth as I removed the individual squares.  The gel insert fit perfectly and is not visible with the cover installed. - Customer

I bought this item because I saw it recommended on a Chevy Bolt EV forum to solve a problem that many drivers have: the headrest is fixed so that will normal seat adjustments it forces your head forward into an unbalanced position.  The product did an excellent job of pushing my back forward just enough so that my head has adequate range of motion, without compromising the safety purchase of the headrest.  In normal driving it's also very comfortable.  The only disadvantage I've noticed is that on hot days, my back is not ventilated and can get a bit hot and sweaty.  Hence 4 rather than 5 stars.
